Wait, which one was the Indispensable Man again? Since we’re finally in President Obama’s last year of leading from behind, back and refreshed from his multi-million taxpayer dollar Hawaiian holiday, he has promised his Progressive brethren to go for broke on gun control.

On that note, our staff decided to keep this first Memory Lane Monday of 2016 short and sweet and look at what General George Washington (you know, the Indispensable Man) had to say on gun control and leave it at that.

“A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.”Too bad Washington D.C. is short on Washington these days…

If that quote seems familiar, yes, we started out 2014 with the same one, but here’s George Washington’s follow up:

“It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it.”

Nothing really ambiguous about that one, right PDers?
