If you can find joy, embrace it.

On this holiday morning, as you bask in the glow of your family and new and improved iPhone 10, our PD Staff wanted to bring you a lovely Christmas sentiment expressed by Pope Francis two years ago.

In 2015, Pope Francis regaled those at Casa Santa Maria with, “We are close to Christmas. There will be lights, there will be parties, bright trees, even Nativity scenes, all decked out, while the world continues to wage war. It’s all a charade.”

Well, Merry Christmas!

No, no. That’s the depressing note the old PD would leave you with, and we weren’t just blowing white smoke when we said we wanted to turn over a new more positive leaf.

Yes, there is war, and yes, people are struggling, but if you have the opportunity to smile and enjoy a few moments from those bright trees, parties, and nativity scenes, why wouldn’t you?

Life is full of struggles, but flogging yourself in those brief moments when no one else is doing that for you, doesn’t really help anyone.

So, celebrate today for those that can’t; the roles could easily be reversed tomorrow.
