Chilling! The offending nail polish campaign from Stylenanda.

Another company trying to cure racism via nail polish has been deemed racist by the Perpetually Offended Class.

L’Oréal’s Stylenanda, a Korean beauty firm, sent Social Justice Warriors scrambling for their pitchforks by running a nail polish campaign featuring intertwined hands with different skin tones.

The horror!

Yes, apparently the palm on the darker-toned hand was too dark for the masses, leading conspiracy theorists to cry Photoshop.

So instead of applauding the brand’s attempt to embrace inclusivity in advertisements for their homogeneous market (after all, there must be at least tens of darker-toned expats in South Korea), the Internet has ruled that surely this brand must be a major donor to the KKK and NRA.

On the other hand…

The apology and public flogging performance from Stylenanda.

The apology and public flogging performance from Stylenanda.

In a world of endless possibilities, what if Stylenanda did not actually break out the Photoshop for this campaign, but instead used a real model that just so happens to have darkish palms?

Maybe she or xe was mercilessly teased for those palms as a child. How would those tolerant Tumblr tyrants feel about their boycotts then?

Well, we will never know, because Stylenanda has already issued an apology and has vowed never to use those images again.

Just sayin’.
