To kick off this week, PD thought we’d trot out a little of that cultural appropriation that the American Left seems to love so much and look at the Hunkpapa Lakota himself, aka Sitting Bull.
Long before Hillary Clinton marveled about Macedonian Machinations, fake news was woven deeply into history (Wounded Knee, anyone?), so it’s with a grain of salt and a shot of firewater that we present the following as quotes attributed to Sitting Bull:
“Each man is good in the sight of the Great Spirit.”
“If we must die, we die defending our rights.”
“It does not take many words to tell the truth.”
“A single bee is ignored, but when millions come together, even the bravest run in fear. The one thing the Government fears is the day we stand together.”
Speaking of cultural appropriation, this week as DeRay McKesson attempts to wash an overly-willing Katy Perry free of her own cornrow crimes and bejeweled grills, one has to wonder if McKesson’s ever actually been to Patagonia.
