The they thought.End of the world predictions are usually good fun, and the two we have for you today are no exception.

First out of the gate, we have the Harvard biologist, Mr. George Wald, who said back in the 1970’s that, “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”

Hmm…doesn’t that sound a bit like the UN?Logic from the History Channel.

Anyways, next up, is the more pessimistic Denis Hayes, Earth Day organizer that said in the Spring 1970 issue of The Living Wilderness (What? Doesn’t everyone have a copy?), “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation.”
