While most people around the world use this time to make pledges to actually use that gym membership twice, or to give up reality T.V., it’s a tradition here at PD to play a little game called, 10-4-10.

You don’t need to be Nostradamus or a Mayan, to partake in this yearly prediction fun. You don’t even need a crystal ball, or gyspy welfare check. You can play this game with your near and dear, or you can play with PD for a chance to win big.

How the concept of 10-4-10 works:

Before the start of the New Year, you make a list of ten well-known figure heads/talking heads/famous people that you think will die during the next year.

At the end of the year, you tally up who made it and who didn’t.

The clairvoyant person with the highest percentage of accuracy wins.

Sounds easy, right? Well, there are a few rules also.

You cannot choose someone you know. Gram-gram doesn’t go on this list. That’s just wrong.

You get credit only if the person is really dead, hardcore medical coma or vegetative states don’t count. Think Mubarak.

If you play with PD there are a few additional rules:

They have to be people that at least have some internet presence. Our Editor will not be riding a donkey into your village to confirm the Mayor’s had a massive stroke.

You cannot influence the outcome of the game, i.e. 10-4-10 is not an excuse to go on a psycho spree, and PD does not condone violence and bears no responsibility if you’re a nut bag, or über competitive.

If there is a tie amongst the highest results, then the winner will be selected based on earliest time of entry.

No purchase necessary, void where prohibited.

All submissions and email addresses are kept private and will not be spammed in anyway, not even by us here at PD.

All submissions must be made to [email protected] by midnight January 1st, 2013 CST. Winners will be notified via email on January 1st, 2014 no later than noon CST.

Let’s talk prizes then. Other than the satisfaction of winning and knowing they’re better than everyone else, the top three entries will receive the following:

3rd Place: A digital copy of one of the titles from PD’s Book Club of the winner’s choice. Titles so far include: In the Garden of Beasts, Animal Farm, and Society Today.

2nd Place: Digital copies of all of the titles from PD’s Book Club, including those from the upcoming 2013 year.

1st Place/Grand Prize Winner: 10 Bitcoins, and digital copies of the titles from our Book Club.

Seriously, 10 Bitcoins and a whole slew of good reading just for sending in the most accurate list of ten names.

You’ve got the weekend to get thinkin’ PDers. Remember submissions will not be accepted after the New Year.

You’re welcome.
