Now that over last week the United States sent tanks and 4,000 troops to Poland, since Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 and it has finally been decided in 2017 that it’s a problem (hey, there’s nothing slower than government bureaucracy), PD thought we’d look back to Barack Obama and his comments to Mitt Romney back during the Presidential Debates of 2012.
You know, for fun.
“Governor Romney, I’m glad you recognize al-Qaeda is a threat, because a few months ago when you were asked what is the biggest geopolitical group facing America, you said Russia—not al-Qaeda and the 1980’s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back, because the Cold War has been over for 20 years.”
To add another layer to this bit of Monday fun, Time Magazine labeled that moment as, “Obama scores clear victory over Romney.”
Of course, Time has never really had a good track record anyway.
