Vaping, Lisa Frank style. If you have your cruller in one hand and an e-cigarette in the other, steel yourself, because this Genius Idea Friday might hurt.

America’s Food and Drug Administration has decided that you’ve been allowed to vape without government oversight long enough, i.e. it’s time for a heaping helping of regulation.

Hey, but don’t balk just yet, because remember, the Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Burwell said that, “Regulations are common sense.”

Whew, right?

Electronic cigarette brands now face the burden of proving their level of health and safety to the FDA, and minors will no longer be able to purchase them, while those up to the age of 26 will need have photo id, since you know, racism safety .

Oh yeah, and free samples are illegal.Oh yeah, a Calvin and Hobbes tee will show them!

According to FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf there’s a, “Robust Federal system planned,” to verify that above mentioned safety, though naturally of course as of now there are no specifics as to what makes up safety in the eyes of Big Government.

In response the American Enterprise Institute think tank came up their Keep Calm and Vape On campaign, a slogan that creatively could have most likely used a little more thought, arguing that, “Large-scale substitution of e-cigarettes, or other non-tobacco nicotine products for tobacco smoking has the potential to prevent almost all the harm from smoking in society.”

Happy Friday!
