Just Sayin’: Love Caning

Can you feel the frenzied passion? Not quite like BDSM.It might be Black History Month the month of love, but if you are near Jakarta, you probably want to keep your khalwat on the D-L.

Yup, recently a young couple full of unmarried love and affection were caned outside of the Bariturrahim Mosque, in Banda Aceh.

Deputy Mayor Zainal Arifin addressed the crowd during the caning saying, “Take these punishments as a lesson. What has been done by these convicts should not be taken as an example, and I hope their canings in Meuraxa District today will be the last ever.”After her caning, the young woman had to be carried away and hospitalized.

Keep in mind, that the Aceh Region only started implementing Sharia Law from 2003, and it was last October that under the Qanun Jinayat (Islamic Criminal Code) dating in public (khalwat) became illegal, along with homosexuality (liwat).

With the ways things are going there, maybe skipping Valentine’s Day altogether is the way to go.

Just sayin’.

This is so sad. Why don't people understand that this is Sharia?
