Memory Lane Monday: It’s All For the Athletes

A requirement of the Rio Olympic Games.Even though it has already started, the preparation for the Games is still considered a work in progress. While claiming back in April of this year that, “We are doing everything for the athletes,” Carlos Nuzman, the President of the Olympic Organizing Committee, might have been exaggerating a little.

Although Rio Olympic Pool Green has recently been selected as the Pantone Color of the 2016, Rio Spokesman Mario Andrada did cop to there being a hygiene problem over the weekend. “Of course, it’s an embarrassment. We are hosting the Olympic Games, and athletes are here, so water is going to be an issue. We should have been better in fixing it quickly. We learned painful lessons the hard way.”

Also over the weekend, Ryan Lochte and other members (Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen--- these three haven’t medaled so most of the media doesn’t care to dig up their names) of the US swimming team were mugged, but it’s not like any of them were chained…and shot…and killed…and skinned.

So, let’s keep things in perspective, people.Know why the water turned green so fast? Minus the floating dead rats, of course. Well, it seem the chemistry game in Rio isn’t quite as strong as their robbery one. Officials added 160 liters of hydrogen peroxide on August 5th, neutralizing the chlorine used to clean it.

According to Lochte, "We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a police badge, no lights, no nothing--- just a police badge and they pulled us over. They pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground--- they got down on the ground. I refused, I was like we didn't do anything wrong, so--- I'm not getting down on the ground and then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead and he said, 'Get down,' and I put my hands up, I was like, 'Whatever.' He took our money, he took my wallet--- he left my cell phone, he left my credentials."

If this is Rio hospitality, you gotta wonder what will happen if any of the competitors overstay their welcome

The swimmers lied in order to tarnish Brazil! None of the mugging was true! They are nothing but disgraceful sacks of skin!

This is really a bad thing happened in Rio Olympics. The government should provide high security for the athletics and people to control the criminal attacks. The police should arrest the people who involved in this crime.
