Genius Idea: Boulder Bans Those Offensive Halloween Costumes

The PC Police. How about these kids? Is that offensive or just creepy? From the place of higher learning that taught young women everywhere to whistle while their raped, comes more pure genius just in time for All Hallows Eve.

The University of Colorado Boulder sprinted into the brilliant spotlight yet again with their recent ban on offensive costumes.

The Dean of Students, Christina Gonzales, explains the difficult position the University at large is put in when pupils decide to play dress up, “Making the choice to dress up as someone from another culture, either with the intention of being humorous or without the intention of being disrespectful, can lead to inaccurate and hurtful portrayals of other people's cultures.”

Oh no! Hurtful portrayals? Well, it’s safe to say that the Boulder Faculty won’t appreciate our Helen Thomas as an Indian costume.Too soon?

So what’s banned? Cowboys, our Indian Elizabeth Warren, sombreros, geishas, hillbillys, ghetto looks and anything else that might be considered offensive by someone somewhere.

These rules however are to be waived any day other than Halloween, otherwise how would all of the ghetto Mexican cowboys dress for classes?

The University of Colorado Boulder isn’t the only school trying to take the fun offensive out of Halloween, as students at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities were also asked to keep things politically correct, with officials imploring them to, "Please keep in mind that certain Halloween costumes inappropriately perpetuate racial, cultural, and gender stereotypes."

If any of our PDers at those schools haven’t selected a costume yet, might we suggest going with a brown shirt motif?
