Cactus Beauty

Cacti magic.Move over kale.Broomstick skirts yesterday, and now the beauty benefits of cacti--- is this our staff’s way of encouraging PDers to move West?

We’ll take the Fifth on that for now, but back to cacti.

Loaded with anti-oxidants, cacti was used all the way back in Ancient Egypt as an anti-inflammatory and to treat ulcers. In the Wild West, due to its emollients, cacti was used as the perfect poultice for cuts and bruises.

Cacti also helps skin retain moisture, making it the latest beauty Holy Grail (next up, our money is on cilantro).

People might say that cacti does everything including bring down high cholesterol, but we here at PD draw the line at wearing it.

To the PDers out there that aren’t necessarily inclined to go foraging around prickly pears, for under $30 Kiehl’s Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist can’t be beat.

You’ll want a bottle or two of this in your stocking this Christmas.

A mix of cactus flower, B vitamins, rosemary, geranium and lavender, if stored in your fridge a few spritzes of this throughout the day will have your skin radiating hydration (in a good, non-Chernobyl way), despite whatever stress the daily news cycle brings you.

Otherwise, if you want to go the extra mile, you can also down at least one glass of cactus juice a week to keep blemishes away.

You’re welcome.

You wouldn't think cacti would be anything good for your face, but it really is. I use it for mine fine lines and it works great.
