Maxine Waters Memory Lane Monday

Can you believe this brainchild is from Cali?Hey, don't blame us. There aren't many pics with her mouth closed on Google Images. It’s Maxine Waters Monday this week! From plotting to send the Tea Party to H.E. Double Hockey-sticks, to wanting others to peg leg down the plank, this California liberal communist is all about kil-er-helping the little guy.

A big fan of spontaneous reactions to a lot of injustice, and thick framed specs, Congresswoman Waters might be a lot of things, but at a loss of words, she most certainly is not.

PD on the whole has not spent a lot of time waxing eloquent on Waters, so to get everyone up to speed let’s check out two of her most pivotal economic quotes one in 2004 and the other from earlier this year, which showcase her business prowess.

When Waters served (still serves---it all feels a bit relative) as a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee back in 2004, she knew all of the ins and outs about Barney Frank’s Fannie and Freddie.

“We do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Frank Raines.”

Talk about knowledgeable! That Frank Raines must be real great guy.If the meme fits...

Naturally, since Waters nailed Fannie (and to our British PDers, we are not making a sexual joke here) and Freddie so well, the American people would expect her to have the same expertise on 2013’s shark in the water---the sequester.

“Yesterday we did have Mr. Bernanke in our committee and he came to tell us what he’s doing with quantitative easing and that is trying to stimulate the economy with the bond purchases that he’s been doing because he’s trying to keep the interest rates low and jobs – and he said that if sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback. We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these jobs losses, over 170 million jobs that could be lost.”

170 million?! Oh my good gravy! We know they axed the Easter Bunny and canceled the Blue Angels, but 170 million? 170,000,000 jobs?! Wouldn’t that mean they’d be firing people, then rehiring them, to only fire those poor bastards one more time? Sort of like a game of Pink Slip Surprise on overdrive?

Thank you, Congresswoman for letting us know just how bad the sequester really is.
