Memory Lane Monday: Donna Karan and Asking For It

Sorry, Harvey.Donna Karan’s Fall 2014 “Woman in Motion” Campaign.Since everyone and their dog have declared 2017 to be the year to roll off the sexual predator casting couch, for this week’s Memory Lane Monday, our staff wanted to look back at what the dresser of the 90’s, Donna Karan, had to say all the way back in October.

When interviewed at last month’s CineFashion Film Awards about her pal Harvey Weinstein’s boilerplates, Donna Karan wondered, “To see it here in our own country is very difficult, but I also think how do we display ourselves? How do we present ourselves as women? What are we asking? Are we asking for it by presenting all the sensuality and all the sexuality?”Perhaps we should also invest in Donna Karan’s 2010 anti-rape tribal necklace, a look that would surely kill the sex-drive of any predator in Hollywood or the world over.

The following week, Donna Karan reiterated again, “You look at everything all over the world today and how women are dressing and what they are asking by just presenting themselves the way they do. What are they asking for? Trouble.”

Oh, and for clarification, by Trouble she isn’t alluding to Urban Decay’s new sex-proof mascara called, Troublemaker
