Memory Lane Monday: Stalin

Good point, good point. What a fabulous fascist! For this month, let’s go way back in time, and look at the words of wisdom from some of the most quintessential statists. This week, we’re all about Joseph Stalin.

That’s right, we said Joseph Stalin, unfortunately not the extremely talented and tattooed Joseph Gilgun, whom most certainly would make for a less depressing Monday---but sorry, no dice.He made one hell of a poster boy though.

Born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili, as he got older he decided that name to be a bit too wordy and dropped it in favor of Joseph Steel, or Joseph Stalin (makes you look a Superman a little differently, doesn’t it?).

Anyways, here are a few of his greatest hits quote wise, and while they lose some of their beauty of the original Russian, we’re translating them to English:

“When we hang the capitalists, they will sell us the rope we use.”

The West decided that hating Hitler was more fashionable.

“The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of a million is a statistic.”

Anyone remember the Holodomor?

“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.” Hmm…doesn’t this quote sound familiar?

Someone always has the idea before you, Hitler.

“In the Soviet army, it takes more courage to retreat than advance.” This was most likely due to the fact that soldiers were told to shoot their comrades immediately if they attempted to retreat.

Canon fodder? Eh, that's child's play for Stalin.

“We don't let them have ideas. Why would we let them have guns?” Diane Feinstein, is that you?

Add a Polo Tee and some $700 shades and he’d fit right in at any Hollywood function.

“Death solves all problems. No man, no problem.” Now, that’s a dark one.

Show us your friends, and we'll show you your future.

Happy Monday!

No one ever mentions the Holodormor. No wonder why the Ukraine is protesting Russia.
