When Gold Becomes Too Much

It's got quite the 80's vibe, doesn't it?We’ve been talking about gold here at PD since the beginning (of time).

Gold bangles; love them. The concept of gold bars and coins as an investment; love it. Gold dusting, gold detailing on bags and clothing; love, love, love. Gold grills----okay we love that less.

Now PD has been forced to add that sometimes going all out for gold isn’t the best idea.

Is that symbol for om or moron?

This man (pictured) Datta Phuge (which we’re pretty sure is Hindi for douche) enlisted the help of twenty-four goldsmiths to create this solid gold tee. Made mesh style and at an undervalued $230,000, the tee is made out of 14,000 22 karat rings, with a few Swarovski crystal buttons thrown in to keep the look from being too gaudy.

Accessorizing the look with eleven pounds of gold jewelry, Datta isn’t worried about someone trying to steal his look. “I always move around with bodyguards.”

You know how people say less is more? Well, PDers, when your outfit requires the use of bodyguards, perhaps you should scale back a bit.

    Yeah, I'm thinking he's a bit of a douche.
