Since it is the first day of 2016, we thought we’d skip our normal Genius Idea Friday segment, and instead just do a recap…You know, in an effort to kick off our PD resolution to be more positive and less pessimistic about the state of the liberty in the world.
So on that note, what happened this month?
Well, our staff sang a few carols as we used our December Memory Lane Mondays to look back at the start of the Arab Spring, 2014’s DPRK Christmas, the secrets of the Secret Service and Ebola.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tried to rehabilitate his meme image by supposedly convincing a fellow Turkish citizen to not swan dive off Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge.
The TSA munched on our tamales and we shined up our patent leather after their obligatory security bin scuffing.
Norway apologized for their delicious and dangerous gingerbread fighter jets.
Then there was Paul Ryan’s $2,000,000,000,000 gift to Progressives, the $53.95 survival kit not included of course, along with the sack of military hand-me-downs Obama Claus offered to Ukraine.
Pillow fights were banned at West Point, and we looked back to Boston’s previous Christmas ban.
Ben Sherwood’s book The Survivors Club gave us some great tips for living through the depression and weight gain caused by being denied a cake from Sweet Cakes By Melissa.
As those in the West gear up for Obama’s last year in the Oval Office (maybe), our staff couldn’t find a more fitting summary of 2015 and what is to come.
What do you think, PDers? Did we nail it or what?
Also remember, we’ve got another round of 10-4-10 for 2016 (with the same great prizes as 2015) so be sure to get your lists to us by midnight CST on January 2nd, 2016.
Good luck and see you next year!
