August’s Book: Liberal Fascism

First they came for the smokers...Fascism goes well beyond footwear.Waiting with bated breath for August’s Book Club selection? Well, as we said yesterday in our July Recap, with all of this smiley face fascism front and center (bottom up, upside down) our PD staff thought back to a title we’d downed years ago that deserves a reread now.

Jonah Goldberg’s 2008 Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning traces back the linguistic history of fascism, and looks into the term’s ever changing definition.Almost a decade since its first publication, "Liberal Fascism" demands a reread.

Despite a length of 512 pages and being more genocidal than smutty, Goldberg’s work goes down fast and makes for a great and informative beach read.
